José Paulo Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. If Gustavo Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Umary getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Magno Linares hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Araporanga's Betinho Koehler in action when he in the 20th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Yuri Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Dino Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Nunes in the 22nd minute of play. Dida Valle struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Dedê Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Umary. In the 37th match minute, Araporanga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Toscano to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, Magno Linares sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Dedê Salgado threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Magno Linares this time. Araporanga's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Patrick Batista 42 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Dida Valle hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Dino Negri was a little too slow when Silvinho Paranaense got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 2-1. The Araporanga supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Araporanga would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
