Anselmo Arce stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armindo Penha's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the match, AlGheex's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Coutinho came free, but Anselmo Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudinei Favoretto made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Edson Simões sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of AlGheex booed when Urumbeba SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, AlGheex's Edson Simões sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claudinei Favoretto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Armindo Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute, Aleandro Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Douglas de Queiroz hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the game, AlGheex's Edson Simões nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudinei Favoretto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo Sarmento in the 43rd minute of play forced Urumbeba SS's goalkeeper Claudinei Favoretto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Armindo Penha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Arce was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

If Edson Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, one of Urumbeba SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Urumbeba SS. Edson Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Claudinei Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Arce having to interfere. Edson Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AlGheex's Edson Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Alexsandro Arósio fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AlGheex's protests and gave Alexsandro Arósio a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, AlGheex's Alexsandro Arósio got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 96th minute Edson Simões shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinei Favoretto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Raimundo Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. AlGheex had played much better football throughout.
