Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Ipoema SC's Emílio Meireles started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th minute Bernardinho Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardinho Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15 played minutes Ipoema SC got a freekick which was hit by Abelardo Coelho. Sabino Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo de Godoi having to interfere. Adhemar da Mata hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Abelardo Coelho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eduardo Sena. Ibuaco AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 29th minute, Emílio Meireles made a precise shot to the right of Eduardo Sena. Ibuaco AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ibuaco AD's Eduardo Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardinho Azevedo in the 32nd minute of play. Emílio Meireles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th minute, Bernardinho Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Emílio Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ipoema SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emílio Meireles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Sena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eduardo Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardinho Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sabino Quirino was the one to do the kick off. Emílio Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ibuaco AD's zone, Emílio Meireles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduardo Sena came out of the goal and Emílio Meireles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 59 minutes into the game, Emílio Meireles lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Eduardo Sena. Bernardinho Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Eduardo Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Bernardinho Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabino Quirino in the 77th minute of play forced Ipoema SC's goalkeeper Paulo de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Emílio Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ibuaco AD's zone, Emílio Meireles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduardo Sena came out of the goal and Emílio Meireles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernardinho Azevedo took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eduardo Sena. Eduardo Sena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Eduardo Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitório da Rocha in the 93rd minute of the match. The supporters of Ipoema SC booed when Ibuaco AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adhemar da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Ibuaco AD's goalkeeper Eduardo Sena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernardinho Azevedo.
