Aírton Barros started the match with the kick off. If Aírton Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgard de Queirós hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 10th match minute, Core H. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Braga to maneuver through the defense. Bernardo Perico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Maringa SC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Geovani Aguiar hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráusio Diniz in the 23rd minute of play forced Maringa SC's goalkeeper Lenílson do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 27 minutes, Edgard de Queirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maringa SC and the Core H. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Felippe Torres struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Lenílson do Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Core H.. Lenílson do Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardo Perico's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. After 35 minutes of play, Maringa SC's Edgard de Queirós made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severino Hames was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Maringa SC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Felippe Torres to strike the kick off in the second half. Severino Hames made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustavo da Fonseca in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felippe Torres in the 70th minute of play forced Maringa SC's goalkeeper Lenílson do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Bernardo Perico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustavo da Fonseca hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After 75 minutes of play, Core H.'s Bernardo Perico made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Célio Rosado during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Core H. booed when Maringa SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Célio Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernardo Perico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Lenílson do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elano Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lenílson do Vale having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Core H.'s goal looked a bit too open when Aírton Barros came free, but Severino Hames reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Maringa SC's Célio Rosado got a free kick in the 96th minute.
