In the 9thth minute of the game Walmir Freitas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Claraval's Pedro Paulo Meira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edmundo Zonta who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Felipe Paes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Claraval booed when Jiquiazinho SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovânio Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The supporters of Claraval booed when Jiquiazinho SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovânio Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Edmundo Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Walmir Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio Catarinense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Cauã Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jiquiazinho SS's Walmir Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 60 minutes, Cauã Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jiquiazinho SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cauã Maia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claraval's Pedro Paulo Meira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cauã Maia in the 62nd minute of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Walmir Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jiquiazinho SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmir Freitas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmundo Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Paes having to interfere. A collision led to Jiquiazinho SS getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Adhemar Maciel hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the match, Geovânio Trigo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Paulo Meira. Claraval's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geovânio Trigo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Claraval's zone, Cauã Maia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Paulo Meira came out of the goal and Cauã Maia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geovânio Trigo got free with Pedro Paulo Meira in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Cauã Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jiquiazinho SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Cauã Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Paulo Meira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Paulo Meira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walmir Freitas in the 83rd minute. Jiquiazinho SS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
