Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tostão Secco started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Fernandinho Veloso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tostão Secco got free with Waldir Freire in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 11thth minute of the game Tostão Secco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carios EC's Waldir Freire was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Fernandinho Veloso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carios EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Imarui the free kick. After a rather tough play, Carios EC's Fernandinho Veloso got a free kick in the 12th minute. A collision led to Imarui getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Tostão Secco hit a great ball. Waldir Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tostão Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Valério Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carios EC's Waldir Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Macedo in the 30th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franklin Macedo got free with Waldir Freire in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Valério Meirelles came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Carios EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valério Meirelles couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Imarui's Fellipe Cerezo got a free kick in the 35th minute. If Fernandinho Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carios EC's Waldir Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tostão Secco in the 40th minute of play. Waldir Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tostão Secco in the 41st minute of the match. Fernandinho Veloso scored 0-1 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé da Fonseca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Franklin Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Freire having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tostão Secco in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldir Freire prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Fernandinho Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Carios EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernandinho Veloso couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Tostão Secco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Imarui's supporters rose to their feet, but Tostão Secco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldir Freire breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 77thth minute of the game Franklin Macedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carios EC's Waldir Freire was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Tostão Secco came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Imarui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tostão Secco couldn't finish the play. The Carios EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Carios EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
