The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Inhucu's Manolo Bertassi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Waldemar de Sena. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. Caio Valadares might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Waldemar de Sena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Caio Valadares ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caio Valadares in the 8th minute of play forced Chapena's goalkeeper Waldemar de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute of the match, Carlinhos Arruda tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Waldemar de Sena saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Caio Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Waldemar de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th match minute, Chapena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Pedro Meirelles to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlinhos Valadares got free with Waldemar de Sena in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Waldemar de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caio Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valério Paes hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Manolo Bertassi was extremely unlucky when he, in the 39th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Manolo Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar de Sena having to interfere. Davi Siqueira's late challenge caught a Inhucu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Davi Siqueira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute, one of Chapena:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chapena. In the 45th match minute, Chapena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Pedro Meirelles to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caio Valadares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Waldemar de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valério Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldemar de Sena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manolo Bertassi went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After 74 minutes, Manolo Bertassi made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Chapena's Waldemar de Sena tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caio Valadares in the 84th minute of play forced Chapena's goalkeeper Waldemar de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Caio Valadares came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Inhucu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caio Valadares couldn't finish the play.
