Pénacova EC's Jairo Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute, one of Pénacova EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pénacova EC. The goalkeeper, Toninho Sampaio, was totally fooled by Invictos Futebol Clube's Claudinho Eger, who 16 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After having played for 19 minutes, Jairo Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pénacova EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jairo Godoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sydney Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Toninho Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Pénacova EC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Teodoro de Moraes hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jairo Godoi in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nando Carioca saved Invictos Futebol Clube from getting behind. After 28 played minutes Pénacova EC got a freekick which was hit by David Pena. A collision led to Pénacova EC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. David Pena hit a great ball. In the 34th minute David Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nando Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jairo Godoi succeeded in the game's 37th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. If Marcinho Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcinho Salles was the one to do the kick off. Toninho Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sydney Brito in the 53rd minute of the match. If Luisão Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 59 minutes into the game, David Pena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Nando Carioca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. David Pena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Nando Carioca made a huge save. Toninho Sampaio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sydney Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Marcinho Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Invictos Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcinho Salles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toninho Sampaio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. David Pena scored 1-3 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nando Carioca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 77 minutes, Marcinho Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Invictos Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcinho Salles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
