After 5 played minutes Portinha got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Carlos Penha. Aloísio Corrêa was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 9 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute, one of Labaxurias F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Labaxurias F.C.. In the 17th minute, Pedro Leite ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedrinho Chaves was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Thomás de Godoy fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portinha's protests and gave Thomás de Godoy a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute, Thomás de Godoy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enrique Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulisses Nóbrega, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Pedrinho Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serafim de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Labaxurias F.C.'s Pedro Leite managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Antônio Carlos Penha in the 33 minute of the game. Enrique Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomás de Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Thomás de Godoy took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Enrique Azevedo to make any attempt to save it. Pedro Leite took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedrinho Chaves. Pedrinho Chaves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Serafim de Carvalho made a kick off. Eduardo de Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute, Portinha's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Pedro Leite fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 56th minute, Dito Moreira fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 57 minutes into the match, Portinha's goalkeeper Pedrinho Chaves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Serafim de Carvalho. Dito Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st match minute, Labaxurias F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Leite to maneuver through the defense. After 62 played minutes, Portinha's Pedro Luiz Pontes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Enrique Azevedo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Portinha reached it. Labaxurias F.C.'s Enrique Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Quintal in the 65th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Portinha's zone, Serafim de Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedrinho Chaves came out of the goal and Serafim de Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Dito Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Labaxurias F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Dito Moreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrinho Chaves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Labaxurias F.C.'s Serafim de Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedrinho Chaves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Serafim de Carvalho in the 75th minute. Dito Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Pedrinho Chaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serafim de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dito Moreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 83 played minutes Portinha got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Luiz Pontes. Serafim de Carvalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Serafim de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomás de Godoy hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Serafim de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Pedrinho Chaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Labaxurias F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo de Brito came free, but Enrique Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
