Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tony Mangueira started the match with the kick off. 7 minutes into the game, Paulinho Veiga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Fernandes's Delfim Miranda quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Nilson Ferraz came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Japao EC's Edson Trigo. But to his dismay, Edson Trigo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tony Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Japao EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Tony Mangueira scored to the left of an out of position Frank Arósio, making the score, 1-1. Luiz Guilherme Pitta succeeded in the game's 28th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. A collision led to Japao EC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Edson Trigo hit a great ball. José Paulo Neto hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Zonta in the 39th minute of play forced Fernandes's goalkeeper Nilson Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Tony Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fernandes's supporters rose to their feet, but Tony Mangueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Arósio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Fernandes booed when Japao EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Vergílio didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Tony Mangueira from long distance, 44 minutes into the match, got Frank Arósio's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Nilson Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Zonta in the 45th minute of the match. Nilson Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Zonta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Allan Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Allan Berger made a kick off. Paulinho Veiga made in the 53rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Allan Berger. Japao EC's Frank Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony Mangueira in the 57th minute of play. 59 minutes into the game, Romário de Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fernandes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Japao EC the free kick. The supporters of Japao EC booed when Fernandes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romário de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Fernandes defense, Bernardo Zonta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nilson Ferraz. The Fernandes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nilson Ferraz should have stopped the shot. In the 63rd minute of the match, Allan Berger tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nilson Ferraz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tony Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Arósio having to interfere. Tony Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the match, Fernandes's goal looked a bit too open when Edson Trigo came free, but Nilson Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Mangueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frank Arósio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. In the 74th match minute, Japao EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Guilherme Pitta to maneuver through the defense. If Tony Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tony Mangueira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frank Arósio having to make a save. Frank Arósio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Mangueira in the 82nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Delfim Miranda during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 83rd minute, Delfim Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With 87 minutes on the clock, José Paulo Neto commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 90th minute of the match Décio Ramos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nilson Ferraz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nilson Ferraz made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Bernardo Zonta sent off a good shot on target. Delfim Miranda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Matheus Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fernandes's supporters rose to their feet, but Matheus Coelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Arósio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Fernandes booed when Japao EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edson Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Although Fernandes had been in control for most of the match, Japao EC still came away with the win.
