Rui Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho Brito having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Cazuza Rocha E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir de Queiroz came free, but Percy Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Cazuza Rocha E.C's Lauro Figueiredo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardinho Brito narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Josefina SS booed when Cazuza Rocha E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal Lago didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vladimir de Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Cazuza Rocha E.C fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Cazuza Rocha E.C's Rui Linares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Percy Marques didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 25th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. After 29 played minutes Josefina SS got a freekick which was hit by Inácio Faria. After a defensive mix-up in Cazuza Rocha E.C's zone, Vladimir de Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percy Marques came out of the goal and Vladimir de Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Percy Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateus Gerber in the 32nd minute of the match. Jeferson Baptista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Percy Marques made a huge save. Carlos Augusto de Barros hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. When Cazuza Rocha E.C's Rui Linares in 40 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Bernardinho Brito guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Rui Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho Brito having to interfere. Cazuza Rocha E.C's Rui Linares got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rui Linares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Josefina SS booed when Cazuza Rocha E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Váldson de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Percy Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimir de Queiroz in the 54th minute of the match. Rui Linaress short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Bernardinho Brito to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 57thth minute of the game Vladimir de Queiroz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cazuza Rocha E.C's Percy Marques was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 64th minute Vladimir de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Percy Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateus Gerber in the 65th minute of play. Aníbal Lago hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. The tension between the Cazuza Rocha E.C and the Josefina SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hélio Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Josefina SS's goalkeeper Bernardinho Brito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thiago Massa. Percy Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateus Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Mateus Simão took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Percy Marques. Percy Marques dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The long shot by Didi Pernambucano in the 80th minute really tested Bernardinho Brito's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Rui Linares in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bernardinho Brito, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Rui Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Bernardinho Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rui Linaress short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Bernardinho Brito to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Vladimir de Queiroz's late challenge caught a Cazuza Rocha E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimir de Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. Josefina SS's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
