After some careless play in the Lapela EC defense, Matías Passos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Narciso Abreu. The Lapela EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Narciso Abreu should have stopped the shot. Placa's Luiz Gustavo Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléberson Novaes in the 17th minute of play. Maurinho Maciel's late challenge caught a Placa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Gustavo Cerezo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Caio Damião's late challenge caught a Lapela EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caio Damião helped the player get up and apologised. Caio Damião kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Lapela EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Placa:s goal. The referee gave Placa a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Natã Lopes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lapela EC's Narciso Abreu. 1-2. Ernesto Loyola was extremely unlucky when he, in the 46th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kléberson Novaes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Matías Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 played minutes Lapela EC got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Andrade. With a little luck, Lapela EC's Narciso Abreu got control of the ball when Matías Passos tried to sneak it across the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Kléberson Novaes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Gustavo Cerezo. Placa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kléberson Novaes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. If Ernesto Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Gustavo Cerezo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernesto Loyola's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kléberson Novaes in the 82nd minute of play forced Placa's goalkeeper Luiz Gustavo Cerezo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Gustavo Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Loyola in the 83rd minute of play. Luiz Gustavo Cerezo came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Lapela EC's Ernesto Loyola. But to his dismay, Ernesto Loyola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Placa's goalkeeper Luiz Gustavo Cerezo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the Lapela EC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
