Progresso's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magno de Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Progresso booed when Real Ducks F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedê Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucjan Walczak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fernando Viana having to interfere. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Lucjan Walczak sped through Progresso's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luís Fernando Viana. Lucjan Walczak might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fernando Viana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucjan Walczak ran back to his position shaking his head. Luizinho Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Lucjan Walczak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Real Ducks F.C. booed when Progresso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perivaldo Meira didn't get a good kick on the ball. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The referee ignored Progresso's protests and gave Perivaldo Meira a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th match minute, Real Ducks F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizinho Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. Magno de Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute, Raúl Pereira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luís Fernando Viana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucjan Walczak's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. After 94 played minutes Progresso got a freekick which was hit by Fred de Mendonça. 95 minutes into the match, Progresso's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Viana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucjan Walczak. Real Ducks F.C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
