When Raúl Guimarães fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored E.C.Mutum's protests and gave Raúl Guimarães a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes E.C.Mutum got a freekick which was hit by Raúl Guimarães. Renatinho Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Otávio Pontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Sidney Leme could shoot a difficult shot in the 19th minute, which Zeca Vasconcelos however easily saved by the left post. In the 30th minute, Zé Pedro Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 41st minute of the match Manolo Amaral shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Renatinho Lira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Otávio Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Zeca Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of E.C.Mutum booed when Silveiras SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robinho Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudinei Cruz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Pedro Amaral got free with Renatinho Lira in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, E.C.Mutum's Renatinho Lira got control of the ball when Antônio Varela tried to sneak it across the goal line. Claudinei Cruz might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Renatinho Lira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudinei Cruz ran back to his position shaking his head. Lucas Cardoso's late challenge caught a Silveiras SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucas Cardoso helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to E.C.Mutum getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Lucas Cardoso hit a great ball. Renatinho Lira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Perivaldo Valle in the 67th minute. Renatinho Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinei Cruz in the 68th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudinei Cruz in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Renatinho Lira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 83 played minutes Silveiras SS got a freekick which was hit by Genílson Queiroz. Zeca Vasconcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Vítor Amorim in the 92nd minute of the match. If Genílson Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
