Fernandão Aguiar stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jerônimo Simões. 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, Botucatu SS's goalkeeper Jerônimo Simões had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Félix. Luís Lago might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Fábio Tepedino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Lago ran back to his position shaking his head. Luiz Fábio Tepedino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josué Freire in the 24th minute of play. After 26 played minutes Colorado Curinga Clube got a freekick which was hit by Perivaldo Romero. The referee gave Colorado Curinga Clube a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Fernandão Aguiar, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Botucatu SS's Jerônimo Simões. 2-2. In the 96th minute, Josué Freire got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
