Lauro Severo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malta AD. Romeu Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Rafa Capixaba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lauro Severo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 13th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Virgílio Saraiva hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. João Carlos Bastos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Virgílio Saraiva's late challenge caught a Convento EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Virgílio Saraiva helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th match minute, Malta AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgílio Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute, Paulinho Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evaristo Catarinense's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Rafa Capixaba - 1-1 was put on the score board in the 29th minute. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Malta AD's goalkeeper Rafa Capixaba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 36 minutes into the game, Gonçalo Teixeira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malta AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Convento EC the free kick. Gonçalo Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Cleiton Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro Severo having to interfere. In the 40th match minute, Malta AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlinhos Correia to maneuver through the defense. Romeu Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Rafa Capixaba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lauro Severo was a little too slow when Edgar do Nascimento got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Romeu Ribeiro to strike the kick off in the second half. Gonçalo Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. João Carlos Bastos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gonçalo Teixeira hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 60thth minute of the game Régis Gaspar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Malta AD's Rafa Capixaba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rafa Capixaba was a little too slow when Romeu Ribeiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 2-2. Lauro Severo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Convento EC booed when Malta AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulinho Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 71 played minutes Malta AD got a freekick which was hit by Carlinhos Correia. Malta AD's Edgar do Nascimento got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Virgílio Saraiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romeu Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafa Capixaba having to interfere. In the 84th match minute, Convento EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilmar Mazza to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute Gonçalo Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Severo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Gonçalo Teixeira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lauro Severo was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Romeu Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafa Capixaba having to interfere. Gonçalo Teixeira took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lauro Severo. Lauro Severo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Convento EC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Malta AD had won, even though Convento EC had held more of the ball.
