The coaching staff of Malta AD protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Zé Paulo Koehler had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Malta AD fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! In the 5th minute there was a penalty for F.C Olimpicus. Vágner Paraibano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rafa Capixaba. 0-1. In the 9th minute, Carlos Arantes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rafa Capixaba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fernando Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Malta AD's Edgar do Nascimento got a free kick in the 17th minute. Gonçalo Teixeira's late challenge caught a F.C Olimpicus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gonçalo Teixeira helped the player get up and apologised. 27 minutes into the match, Luís Fernando Madureira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafa Capixaba. After some careless play in the Malta AD defense, Carlos Arantes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafa Capixaba. The Malta AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafa Capixaba should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

F.C Olimpicus made a substitution. Tião Maia replaced Carlos Arantes. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Fernando Madureira to strike the kick off in the second half. Guilherme Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Reis having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Virgílio Saraiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in F.C Olimpicus's zone, Gonçalo Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Durval Reis came out of the goal and Gonçalo Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. F.C Olimpicus's Durval Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgílio Saraiva in the 79th minute of play. Malta AD's Rafa Capixaba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Malta AD from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Maia in the 82nd minute of play forced Malta AD's goalkeeper Rafa Capixaba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafa Capixaba was a little too slow when Tião Maia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 0-5. After a rather tough play, Malta AD's Cleiton Peres got a free kick in the 91st minute. Malta AD's Rafa Capixaba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Malta AD from getting a goal against them. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. F.C Olimpicus walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
