A collision led to Clube Atlético Jalesense getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Marcelo Meirelles hit a great ball. Oscar Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raúl Amaral in the 21st minute of play forced Iacanga's goalkeeper Falcão de Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastião Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nildo Correia in the 88th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nildo Correia in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sebastião Mazza saved Clube Atlético Jalesense from getting behind.
