Murillo Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurinho França, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Murillo Proença came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Surrao AD's Felipe da Fonseca. But to his dismay, Felipe da Fonseca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Vítor Couto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the game, Armindo Tepedino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Surrao AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tauary FC the free kick. Armindo Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Vítor Couto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emerson Lago made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Tauary FC got a freekick which was hit by Agnaldo Galvão. With a little luck, Tauary FC's Murillo Proença got control of the ball when Maurinho França tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Tauary FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Surrao AD's performance. The match ended with a win for Surrao AD.
