In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Basuca SC's goalkeeper Kiko Queiroz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fabiano Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabiano Gaúcho in the 15th minute of play forced Basuca SC's goalkeeper Kiko Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabiano Gaúcho to strike the kick off in the second half. Basuca SC's Kiko Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabiano Gaúcho in the 51st minute of play. Flávio Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos de Azevedo having to interfere. Dalmo Cardozo hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Basuca SC's Jânio Veiga got a free kick in the 64th minute. Edvaldo Fernandes, 65 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Fabiano Gaúcho, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 67 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Kiko Queiroz was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 72nd minute, Cauan Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flávio Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 78th minute, Dalmo Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
