The Astrum fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nuno Ramos should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonel Bezerra during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Piracanjuba getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Leonel Bezerra hit a great ball. Ivo Saraiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manolo Motta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Aílton Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Manolo Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute Silvério Couto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Ramos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aílton Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Manolo Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aílton Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The wind increased when Silvério Couto made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silvério Couto during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 51st minute, Silvério Couto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Aílton Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Astrum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aílton Rocha couldn't finish the play. Manolo Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Astrum's supporters rose to their feet, but Aílton Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manolo Motta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Astrum's Ivo Saraiva got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When André da Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Astrum's protests and gave André da Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Astrum! Astrum's Nuno Ramos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Astrum from getting a goal against them. In the 84th minute, Ivo Saraiva made a precise shot to the right of Manolo Motta. Piracanjuba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Miguel Vieira kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Walmyr Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Astrum's supporters rose to their feet, but Walmyr Alagoano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manolo Motta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 97 minutes into the game, Astrum's Ivo Saraiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manolo Motta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Astrum's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
