Frédson Quadros charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frédson Quadros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jerônimo Chaves was the one to do the kick off. Tarcisio Quirino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Osmar Tinoco made a huge save. 54 minutes into the game, Luiz Fábio de Almeida was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Macarani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gundiana the free kick. In the 54th match minute, Macarani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fábio de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. The Gundiana fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Macarani were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
