Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Arí Gaúcho made the kick off and thus started the match. If Adhemar Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldir Messias in the 5th minute of play forced Atlético Piauiense's goalkeeper Tião de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute, Atlético Piauiense's Cesinha de Alcântara dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After 12 minutes, Chico Rodrigues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Piauiense and the Ibera F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Cesinha de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Erasmo Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesinha de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the game, Cesinha de Alcântara lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Erasmo Monteiro. Cesinha de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the match, Arí Gaúcho notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Atlético Piauiense's Tião de Amaral. Tião de Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Ibera F.C.'s Valério Ramalho got a free kick in the 31st minute. When Dudu Linares fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Piauiense's protests and gave Dudu Linares a yellow card for diving instead. Dudu Linares hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute of the match Zeca Catarinense shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tião de Amaral showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 43rd minute, Arí Gaúcho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tião de Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Cesinha de Alcântara made the kick off in the second half. Waldir Messias struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Tião de Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibera F.C.. Tião de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arí Gaúcho in the 52nd minute of play. Cesinha de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Monteiro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ibera F.C.'s Valério Ramalho got a free kick in the 57th minute. The long shot by Zeca Catarinense in the 60th minute really tested Tião de Amaral's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 63 minutes into the game, Atlético Piauiense's Cesinha de Alcântara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erasmo Monteiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Cesinha de Alcântara might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erasmo Monteiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cesinha de Alcântara ran back to his position shaking his head. Adhemar Paraíba hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Tião de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arí Gaúcho, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ibera F.C.'s goalkeeper Erasmo Monteiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Erasmo Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damyan Ramadanov in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 84th minute of the match, Waldir Messias got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tião de Amaral was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 85th match minute, Atlético Piauiense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dudu Linares to maneuver through the defense. Waldir Messias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético Piauiense's goalkeeper Tião de Amaral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92nd minute Cesinha de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erasmo Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Damyan Ramadanov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erasmo Monteiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. When the referee ended the match the Atlético Piauiense players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
