Agnaldo Mota might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquim Fonseca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agnaldo Mota ran back to his position shaking his head. If Agnaldo Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yuri Viana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquim Fonseca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Joaquim Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Quadros, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Waldemar Carvalho hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Nascimento FC's Gilmar Quadros got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Murilo Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Banabuiu AD's Júlio Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anderson de Senna struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Gilberto Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banabuiu AD. 22 minutes into the match, Gilmar Quadros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquim Fonseca. Banabuiu AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilmar Quadros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilmar Quadros in the 27th minute of play forced Banabuiu AD's goalkeeper Joaquim Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Banabuiu AD's goalkeeper Joaquim Fonseca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonas Mumbach kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. A collision led to Banabuiu AD getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Anderson de Senna hit a great ball. When Gilmar Quadros came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Nascimento FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilmar Quadros couldn't finish the play. Yuri Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Joaquim Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yuri Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilmar Quadros in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquim Fonseca saved Banabuiu AD from getting behind. Yuri Viana scored 0-2 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquim Fonseca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yuri Viana was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Vânderson de Amaral left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Banabuiu AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. With his leg Joaquim Fonseca managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Nascimento FC's Gilmar Quadros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Severino Gonçalves fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Banabuiu AD's protests and gave Severino Gonçalves a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Banabuiu AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nascimento FC:s goal. When the match had been going on for 59 minutes, Nascimento FC's Geovanni Rosado got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Joaquim Fonseca. The referee gave Banabuiu AD a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Júlio Amaral, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Nascimento FC's Gilberto Lima. 2-3. Vânderson de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Lima having to interfere. Nascimento FC's Gilberto Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson de Senna in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Nascimento FC's Geovanni Rosado got a free kick in the 74th minute. Gilberto Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vânderson de Amaral in the 75th minute of play. If Anderson de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vânderson de Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Nascimento FC's Gilberto Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vânderson de Amaral in the 84th minute of play. In the 97th match minute, Nascimento FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agnaldo Mota to maneuver through the defense. Banabuiu AD's Júlio Amaral couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 98th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Nascimento FC. The Nascimento FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
