Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Walmyr Almeida made the kick off and thus started the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sidney da Silva got free with Donatello Mazza in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Albertinho Negri came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Imperio Alviverde fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albertinho Negri couldn't finish the play. If Walmyr Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Imperio Alviverde's Donatello Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jefferson Albuquerque in the 11th minute of play. Betão Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertinho Negri in the 16th minute of the match. After having played for 20 minutes, Walmyr Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Imperio Alviverde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmyr Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Sidney da Silva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donatello Mazza. Imperio Alviverde's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sidney da Silva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 27 minutes, Betinho Mangueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Parnaiba SC and the Imperio Alviverde players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Parnaiba SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! In the 28th minute there was a penalty for Imperio Alviverde. Walmyr Almeida stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Betão Duarte. 1-1. A collision led to Parnaiba SC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Júlio Cardoso hit a great ball. Betão Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmyr Almeida in the 35th minute of the match. Walmyr Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferson Albuquerque in the 41st minute of play forced Imperio Alviverde's goalkeeper Donatello Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st match minute, Imperio Alviverde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerônimo Sarmento to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Moisés Paraibano took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Donatello Mazza to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jefferson Albuquerque to make the kick off. After 59 played minutes Imperio Alviverde got a freekick which was hit by José Augusto Torres. Walmyr Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Betão Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Dino Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jefferson Albuquerque scored 3-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Donatello Mazza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Parnaiba SC's Jefferson Albuquerque took a good shot, in the 69th minute, which hit the crossbar above Donatello Mazza's head, and flew over the goal. Imperio Alviverde's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Parnaiba SC. 85 minutes into the match, Imperio Alviverde's goal looked a bit too open when Sidney da Silva came free, but Donatello Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donatello Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jefferson Albuquerque in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Parnaiba SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Imperio Alviverde had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
