In the 3rd minute, Exaltacao FC's Cauã Cosme ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joélson Lima. Joélson Lima yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Exaltacao FC's Víktor de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dé Alagoano in the 8th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dé Alagoano in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Víktor de Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Vasco da Gama's Dé Alagoano in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Exaltacao FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 25 played minutes Vasco da Gama got a freekick which was hit by Róbson Macedo. Luís Gustavo Fernandes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Víktor de Amaral. Exaltacao FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Vasco da Gama's Dé Alagoano in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Exaltacao FC's goalie prevented a goal. Víktor de Amaral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dé Alagoano's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Róbson Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vasco da Gama's supporters rose to their feet, but Róbson Macedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Víktor de Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Víktor de Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedro Luís França went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The Exaltacao FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vasco da Gama were winning 1-3.

57 minutes into the match, Frédson Ortiz notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Vasco da Gama's Joélson Lima. Joélson Lima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dé Alagoano in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Víktor de Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Exaltacao FC's Víktor de Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Exaltacao FC from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice moves Dé Alagoano could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Víktor de Amaral however easily saved by the left post. Víktor de Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luís França in the 66th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Amauri Campidelis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 75 minutes into the match, Vasco da Gama's goal looked a bit too open when Amauri Campidelis came free, but Joélson Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Luís França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Víktor de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the game, Vasco da Gama's Dé Alagoano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Víktor de Amaral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. Víktor de Amaral was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Haroldo Lago showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-5 in the 81 minute of play. Dé Alagoano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Víktor de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Víktor de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbson Macedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Exaltacao FC's Víktor de Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Exaltacao FC from getting a goal against them. If Róbson Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauã Cosme in the 95th minute of play forced Vasco da Gama's goalkeeper Joélson Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vasco da Gama's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
