Rui Furtado's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 3rdth minute, Pedrinho Cunha skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 5th minute, Chiquinho Secco made a precise shot to the right of Germano Leal. Guararapes AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. A collision led to Goitacases AD getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Chiquinho Coelho hit a great ball. The supporters of Goitacases AD booed when Guararapes AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Goitacases AD's Ediberto Paraense got a free kick in the 13th minute. Rui Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Pedrinho Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Cristiano Arósio made the kick off in the second half. Cristiano Arósio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedrinho Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Rui Furtado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Goitacases AD's Chiquinho Coelho pulled a muscle in his leg after 65 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Wanderson de Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wanderson de Almeida the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Goitacases AD booed when Guararapes AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wanderson de Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute, Luís Guilherme Bertassi sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Guararapes AD's Germano Leal didn't even have to move. If Gualter Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guararapes AD's Germano Leal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Guararapes AD from getting a goal against them. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rui Furtado couldn't finish the play. Germano Leal acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 97th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ediberto Paraense. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
