The audience was convinced that Raí Meireles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Breckenfeld was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Reginaldo Vasconcelos took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marquinhos Teixeira. Marquinhos Teixeira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Marquinhos Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adriano de Almeida was the one to do the kick off. Adriano de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Teixeira having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Reginaldo Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caio Garcia hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Adriano de Almeida's late challenge caught a Petunia SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adriano de Almeida helped the player get up and apologised. Adriano de Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
