Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Catetu's Adhemar Silveira started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Catetu's Denílson Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmílson Braga in the 4th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Chicago Bulls's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Paraense came free, but Sydney Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Paulo Rosado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Denílson Guedes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Denílson Guedes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmílson Braga in the 19th minute. Tião Ramalho charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tião Ramalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th match minute, Catetu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tião Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Paulo Rosado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denílson Guedes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Catetu's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Jan-Åke Eklund scored to the left of an out of position Denílson Guedes, making the score, 3-0. In the 37thth minute of the game Pedro Paulo Rosado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catetu's Denílson Guedes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Denílson Guedes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo da Fonseca in the 38th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Chicago Bulls's Denílson Guedes threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pedro Paulo Rosado, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Fred Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 minutes, Mike Wurm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chicago Bulls and the Catetu players grew even worse after the yellow card. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Chicago Bulls booed when Catetu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aloísio Sarmento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denílson Guedes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Chicago Bulls's Pedro Paulo Rosado in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Catetu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Denílson Guedes should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Pedro Paulo Rosado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denílson Guedes was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Mike Wurm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 88thth minute of the game Pedro Paulo Rosado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catetu's Denílson Guedes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Denílson Guedes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Paulo Rosado's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Fred Paraense hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. When Pedro Paulo Rosado came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Chicago Bulls fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Paulo Rosado couldn't finish the play. 96 minutes into the game, Luiz Guilherme Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catetu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chicago Bulls the free kick.
