In the 13th minute Vicente Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Pereira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute, Elano Britto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Vicente Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Guilherme Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Vinicio Eriz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 played minutes Vila Nova F.C got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Tavares. Duda de Mendonça charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Duda de Mendonça the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 25 minutes into the game, one of Vila Nova F.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to Vila Nova F.C getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Vicente Tavares hit a great ball. Vicente Coelho hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Claudinei Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Buritizinho defense, Radowit Kochniarczyk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celso Pereira. The Buritizinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celso Pereira should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Guilherme Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinicio Eriz having to interfere. Vila Nova F.C's Yan Gaúcho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Norberto de Queiroz in the 57 minute of the game. Celso Pereira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Tavares in the 64th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Genílson Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinicio Eriz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th match minute, Vila Nova F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yan Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Artur Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vila Nova F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Artur Berger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Pereira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Celso Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Artur Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 86 minutes into the match, Buritizinho's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Berger came free, but Celso Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vicente Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vinicio Eriz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genílson Arantes in the 96th minute of the match. The Vila Nova F.C fans cheered their team off the field, for while Buritizinho had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
