In the 4thth minute of the game Durvalino Simões who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canicora's Rogério Maranhense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Moisés Paraense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canicora's supporters rose to their feet, but Moisés Paraense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cássio Hermes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Caranahyba AD's Carlos Fernando Xavier got a free kick in the 8th minute. Rogério Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Durvalino Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Caranahyba AD booed when Canicora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moisés Paraense couldn't finish the play. If Gildo Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Moisés Paraense came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Canicora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moisés Paraense couldn't finish the play. 70 minutes into the match, Caranahyba AD's goal looked a bit too open when Moisés Paraense came free, but Cássio Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Caranahyba AD booed when Canicora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho da Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gildo Bertassi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Durvalino Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benê de Souza during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Canicora getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Benê de Souza hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Canicora fans cheered their team off the field, for while Caranahyba AD had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
