After 6 played minutes, Canicora's Túlio Medeiros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vinicio Eriz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Canicora reached it. Radowit Kochniarczyk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Rogério Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vila Nova F.C's Vinicio Eriz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Vila Nova F.C from getting a goal against them. After 35 minutes of play, Vila Nova F.C's Radowit Kochniarczyk made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rogério Maranhense was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ricardinho Arósio hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After 39 played minutes Vila Nova F.C got a freekick which was hit by Yan Gaúcho. The audience was convinced that Radowit Kochniarczyk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rogério Maranhense was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Vicente Tavares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
The wind increased when Moisés Paraense made the kick off in the second half. Moisés Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Vinicio Eriz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Canicora's Rogério Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Tavares in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the game, Cauã Gaspar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canicora's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vila Nova F.C the free kick. The supporters of Vila Nova F.C booed when Canicora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cauã Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Paraense in the 65th minute of play forced Vila Nova F.C's goalkeeper Vinicio Eriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Vila Nova F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Moisés Paraense came free, but Vinicio Eriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Vila Nova F.C defense, Moisés Paraense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vinicio Eriz. The Vila Nova F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vinicio Eriz should have stopped the shot. Yan Gaúcho kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Yan Gaúcho charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yan Gaúcho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Vila Nova F.C's Yan Gaúcho got a free kick in the 80th minute. If Radowit Kochniarczyk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cauã Gaspar hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Radowit Kochniarczyk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério Maranhense having to interfere. Radowit Kochniarczyk scored 1-2 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rogério Maranhense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over Vila Nova F.C could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Canicora throughout the match.
