The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Marisco de Cultivo F.C.'s zone, Simão Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Felipillo came out of the goal and Simão Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hugo Felipillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simão Luz in the 5th minute of the match. Marisco de Cultivo F.C.'s Bebeto Freire got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Márcio Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute Simão Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Felipillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugo Felipillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simão Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jiang Ke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bruninho Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarbas Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jânio Rezende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Jiang Ke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The wind increased when Simão Luz made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Bebeto Freire cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jânio Rezende was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jiang Ke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Bruninho Braga fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jânio Rezende, passed just outside the right post. 64 minutes into the match, Macuje's goal looked a bit too open when Bruninho Braga came free, but Jânio Rezende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Simão Luz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hugo Felipillo was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. When Jiang Ke came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Marisco de Cultivo F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jiang Ke couldn't finish the play. Macuje's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gugu Cordeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Macuje succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Marisco de Cultivo F.C. had controlled the match.
