Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) When Vítor Galvão came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Heliopolis EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Galvão couldn't finish the play. In the 6th minute, Patrício Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 8 minutes, Luizinho Schmidt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heliopolis EC and the Pauxis AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luizinho Schmidt hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Cruz in the 12th minute of play forced Heliopolis EC's goalkeeper João Francisco de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cássio Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Cruz in the 17th minute of play forced Heliopolis EC's goalkeeper João Francisco de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Francisco de Amaral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silvinho Ferreira's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Pauxis AD's goalkeeper Dida Alves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vítor Galvão. When Diogo Dracena fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pauxis AD's protests and gave Diogo Dracena a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Pauxis AD's Diogo Dracena got a free kick in the 30th minute. Cássio Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. João Francisco de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ediberto Proença stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pauxis AD's Silvinho Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Didi Silva's late challenge caught a Pauxis AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Didi Silva helped the player get up and apologised. In the 73rd match minute, Heliopolis EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didi Silva to maneuver through the defense. Diogo Dracena took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 75th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for João Francisco de Amaral. Heliopolis EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dida Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ediberto Proença, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pauxis AD's goalkeeper Dida Alves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ediberto Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Alves having to interfere. Dida Alves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ediberto Proença, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Francisco de Amaral made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Cássio Cruz sent off a good shot on target. After 90 played minutes Pauxis AD got a freekick which was hit by Edson Tande. Pauxis AD's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
