The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When AMERICA's Gilberto Tróia in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Feia SC's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Feia SC's zone, Gilberto Tróia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adalmo Leal came out of the goal and Gilberto Tróia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilberto Tróia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 8thth minute, Adalmo Leal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 11th minute, João Vítor Chaves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilberto Tróia kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Gilberto Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalmo Leal having to interfere. Gilberto Tróias short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Adalmo Leal to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Adalmo Leal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kléber Pombal in the 16th minute. After 18 minutes of play, AMERICA's Gilberto Tróia made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adalmo Leal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Agenor de Souza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Adalmo Leal when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gilberto Tróia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 27thth minute, Adalmo Leal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Kléber Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Adalmo Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kléber Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalmo Leal having to interfere. 33 minutes into the game, Didi Albuquerque was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Feia SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AMERICA the free kick. In the 33rd minute, Didi Albuquerque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the game, Gilberto Tróia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Adalmo Leal. Gilberto Tróia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Adalmo Leal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Tróia's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Allan Messias during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. AMERICA:s Adalberto Guimarães showed great skill when he stopped Roger Lima:s penalty. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gilberto Tróia to strike the kick off in the second half. Rodriguinho Dias charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodriguinho Dias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Feia SC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Rodriguinho Dias hit a great ball. After 54 minutes of play, AMERICA's Gilberto Tróia made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adalmo Leal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Didi Albuquerque could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Adalberto Guimarães made a huge save. When Olavo de Souza fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AMERICA's protests and gave Olavo de Souza a yellow card for diving instead. After 64 played minutes AMERICA got a freekick which was hit by Olavo de Souza. After 66 played minutes AMERICA got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar Goiano. Adalmo Leal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Tróia's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. When Kléber Pombal came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the AMERICA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kléber Pombal couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilberto Tróia in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adalmo Leal saved Feia SC from getting behind. After 71 played minutes AMERICA got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Pombal. Hamílton Pirani's late challenge caught a AMERICA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hamílton Pirani helped the player get up and apologised. Kléber Pombal missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 76 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Adalmo Leal right hand side. The audience was convinced that Gilberto Tróia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adalmo Leal was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredão Campidelis during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alfredão Campidelis hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Rafinha Leme charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafinha Leme the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Gilberto Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. Adalmo Leal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Tróia in the 96th minute of the match. AMERICA walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
