The supporters of F.C Laranja Mecânica booed when Mandassaia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 8 minutes of play, F.C Laranja Mecânica's Ademir Magalhães made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sidnei França was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 17th minute, Vinícius Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the game's 18th minute F.C Laranja Mecânica's Roberto Trancoso took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Sidnei França and thus the score was 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Diniz in the 21st minute of play forced Mandassaia's goalkeeper Sidnei França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Andrézinho Lopez came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Mandassaia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrézinho Lopez couldn't finish the play. If Olívio Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aníbal Rezende made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Olívio Freitas sent off a good shot on target. Aníbal Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrézinho Lopez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olívio Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Andrézinho Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ademir Magalhães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. F.C Laranja Mecânica's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roberto Trancoso in the 54th minute. After taking down the ball on F.C Laranja Mecânica's corner Roberto Trancoso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sidnei França quite easily take care of the ball. Augusto Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. David Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Sidnei França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 69 played minutes F.C Laranja Mecânica got a freekick which was hit by Umberto Gonçalves. In the 71st minute Mandassaia were awarded a corner. Evaristo Leme went to the cornerflag to take it. Andrézinho Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romário Pirani charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romário Pirani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th match minute, Mandassaia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romário Pirani to maneuver through the defense. Jean Madureira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mandassaia's Andrézinho Lopez got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vinícius Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chants of F.C Laranja Mecânica echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Mandassaia had held the ball for most of the match.
