Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Luiz Fábio Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Danilo Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Tiaguinho Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Danilo Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute of the match Natã de Moraes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tiaguinho Velloso skillfully saved the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Corixao FC's Chico Koehler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Francisco Nunes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chico Koehler got free with João Francisco Nunes in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Chico Koehler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corixao FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Chico Koehler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Francisco Nunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Francisco Nunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Araújo in the 34th minute of play. In the 39th minute of the match Serafim de Barros shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tiaguinho Velloso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Fábio Britto to make the kick off. Humberto Gomes took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tiaguinho Velloso. Tiaguinho Velloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Natã de Moraes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 57th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Danilo Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tiaguinho Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Britto, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. João Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Corixao FC's João Costa got a free kick in the 66th minute. 71 minutes into the game, Gustavo Nóbrega was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corixao FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jão Goiaba FC the free kick. In the 70th minute, one of Corixao FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Corixao FC. Danilo Senna who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Tiaguinho Velloso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Danilo Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jão Goiaba FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
