When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Carlos Augusto Nóbrega took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Genílson Varela to make any attempt to save it. If Carlos Augusto Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rui Martins kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Real Cruz's Carlos Alberto Batista got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 25th minute Carlos Augusto Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genílson Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Alberto Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genílson Varela having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Carlos Augusto Nóbrega notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Uberaba Sport Club's Genílson Varela. Genílson Varela was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Juan Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arí Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Real Cruz's Jorge do Valle quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Samuel Paes, made in the 45th minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 53 minutes, Jorge do Valle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Cruz and the Uberaba Sport Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th match minute, Real Cruz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge do Valle to maneuver through the defense. Real Cruz's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Josué de Barros 57 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. Real Cruz's Juan Corrêa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Real Cruz from getting a goal against them. Arí Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan Corrêa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josué de Barros in the 73rd minute of play forced Real Cruz's goalkeeper Juan Corrêa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arí Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Corrêa having to interfere. Real Cruz's Jorge do Valle managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Samuel Paes in the 76 minute of the game. Real Cruz's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Erasmo Pinho in the 79th minute. A nice corner shot did that Erasmo Pinho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Genílson Varela quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 82 minutes into the game, Samuel Paes threw the ball into play from the sideline. Real Cruz's Jorge do Valle quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 83 minutes into the match, Real Cruz's Jorge do Valle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Genílson Varela narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Carlos Augusto Nóbrega got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 89 minutes into the game, Real Cruz's Carlos Augusto Nóbrega nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Genílson Varela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Caio de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. If Carlos Alberto Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Uberaba Sport Club's zone, Carlos Augusto Nóbrega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genílson Varela came out of the goal and Carlos Augusto Nóbrega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
