Durval Hoffmann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kauã Ferreira went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Regeneracao's Durval Hoffmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kauã Ferreira in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute Canatiba were awarded a corner. Válter Gerber went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Canatiba's corner Válter Gerber fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Durval Hoffmann quite easily take care of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Canatiba's zone, Laércio de Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Zonta came out of the goal and Laércio de Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Waldir Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Murilo Cerezo's late challenge caught a Canatiba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Murilo Cerezo helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Regeneracao got a freekick which was hit by Murilo Cerezo. After a defensive mix-up in Canatiba's zone, Moisés Alvarenga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Zonta came out of the goal and Moisés Alvarenga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 38 minutes of play, Canatiba's Waldir Zanette made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Durval Hoffmann was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Waldir Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canatiba's supporters rose to their feet, but Waldir Zanette was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durval Hoffmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio de Medeiros in the 44th minute of play forced Canatiba's goalkeeper Juan Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Breno Favoretto fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canatiba's protests and gave Breno Favoretto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th minute, Breno Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Juan Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio de Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Regeneracao's goalkeeper Durval Hoffmann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Canatiba booed when Regeneracao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Cerezo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 61 minutes, Kauã Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canatiba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kauã Ferreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th minute, Kauã Ferreira fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Durval Hoffmann, passed just outside the right post. In the 68th minute, Laércio de Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Adriano Messias fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canatiba's protests and gave Adriano Messias a yellow card for diving instead. Adriano Messias kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After 70 minutes of play, Regeneracao's Moisés Alvarenga made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juan Zonta was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Moisés Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laércio de Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Regeneracao getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Oséias Viana hit a great ball. After 90 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Canatiba! The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Canatiba walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
