Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) When Hélio Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maracani FC's protests and gave Hélio Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead. After 2 played minutes Maracani FC got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Fonseca. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nestor Maia in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafinha Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edvaldo Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. José Maria Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 16 minutes, Cacá Jacinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maracani FC and the Guarda players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cacá Jacinto hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, Vito da Fonseca fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Allan Quirino fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guarda's protests and gave Allan Quirino a yellow card for diving instead. Allan Quirino hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When Hélio Fonseca was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 23 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Maracani FC's Hélio Fonseca got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 36th minute, Bruninho Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruninho Braga kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Maracani FC's César Pimenta couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 39th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Guarda. Maracani FC's Rafinha Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubinho Pires in the 42nd minute of play. Rubinho Pires recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Rubinho Pires notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Maracani FC's Rafinha Amorim. Rafinha Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edvaldo Paraense to make the kick off. José Maria Moura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvaldo Paraense, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. With a little luck, Maracani FC's Rafinha Amorim got control of the ball when Nestor Maia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rubinho Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafinha Amorim having to interfere. Rubinho Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edvaldo Paraense struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. José Maria Moura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maracani FC. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Edvaldo Paraense put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of José Maria Moura. In the 70th minute of the match Lenílson Mendonça shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Maria Moura showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edvaldo Paraense in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Maria Moura saved Guarda from getting behind. Rafinha Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubinho Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cacá Jacinto kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 98th minute, Maracani FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nestor Maia fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. There was no doubt that Maracani FC were the better team. Maracani FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
