Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Zé Carlos Paranaense took the kick off in the first half of the match. A collision led to Espinhal getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Luisinho Arantes hit a great ball. The supporters of Mandim SC booed when Espinhal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelinho da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Luís Fábio Veiga sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Espinhal's Geovani Sena didn't even have to move. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Percy Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mandim SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Percy Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geovani Sena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zé Carlos Paranaense might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antônio Mello. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Carlos Paranaense ran back to his position shaking his head. With his leg Antônio Mello managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Espinhal's Laerte Neves fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Antônio Mello made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Laerte Neves sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Paranaense in the 29th minute of play forced Mandim SC's goalkeeper Antônio Mello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Carlos Paranaense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antônio Mello read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Dorival Fontes charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorival Fontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Espinhal booed when Mandim SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorival Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laerte Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Carlos Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Antônio Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antônio Mello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Carlos Paranaense in the 41st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Carlos Paranaense in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antônio Mello saved Mandim SC from getting behind. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Percy Cabral to make the kick off. Laerte Neves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antônio Mello having to make a save. Antônio Mello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Neves in the 67th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Mandim SC's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte Neves came free, but Antônio Mello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laerte Neves struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Antônio Mello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Espinhal. After a defensive mix-up in Mandim SC's zone, Zé Carlos Paranaense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antônio Mello came out of the goal and Zé Carlos Paranaense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Laerte Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mandim SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zé Carlos Marquez was slow to take the kick. During this time Espinhal's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Espinhal's corner Zé Carlos Marquez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Antônio Mello quite easily take care of the ball. Zé Roberto Loureiro charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zé Roberto Loureiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd match minute, Espinhal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 85thth minute of the game Percy Cabral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Espinhal's Geovani Sena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Espinhal's goalkeeper Geovani Sena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ian Medeiros. Zé Carlos Paranaense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Mello having to interfere. Laerte Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Antônio Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laerte Neves struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Antônio Mello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Espinhal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Espinhal had played much better football throughout.
