Frédson Abreu started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Batateira AD booed when Morore AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vágner Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Arnaldo Braga sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Willian Urbano threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Arnaldo Braga this time. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Batateira AD's Frédson Abreu in the 10th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Willian Urbano was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Morore AD through an amazing save. Frédson Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Morore AD's Vágner Carioca got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute, Vinícius de Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Batateira AD's goal looked a bit too open when Carlinhos Linares came free, but Enio Hoffmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amadeu Nascimento hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Batateira AD's Pedro Augusto Nascimento suffered a sore thigh after 29 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Aloísio de Mendonça fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Morore AD's protests and gave Aloísio de Mendonça a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Morore AD getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Aloísio de Mendonça hit a great ball. Clóvis Recife scored 1-0 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Willian Urbano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Enio Hoffmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinícius de Souza in the 36th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Carlinhos Linares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Morore AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlinhos Linares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enio Hoffmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Enio Hoffmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinícius de Souza in the 47th minute of play. Frédson Abreu's late challenge caught a Morore AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frédson Abreu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Morore AD booed when Batateira AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frédson Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vinícius de Souza was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlinhos Linares got free with Enio Hoffmann in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the match, Batateira AD's goal looked a bit too open when Vinícius de Souza came free, but Enio Hoffmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enio Hoffmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinícius de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute Vágner Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enio Hoffmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th match minute, Batateira AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frédson Abreu to maneuver through the defense. Carlinhos Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Enio Hoffmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enio Hoffmann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlinhos Linares went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Batateira AD's Enio Hoffmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Batateira AD from getting a goal against them. 84 minutes into the match, Batateira AD's goal looked a bit too open when Vinícius de Souza came free, but Enio Hoffmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
