The referee felt a red card was in order, 7 minutes into the game, when Gláuber Eger put in a rough tackle. Durvalino Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho Hermes in the 11th minute of play. After 12 played minutes Maxixe SC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Gustavo Lucas. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Mané Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maxixe SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mané Ferraz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugênio Linhares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dito Pirani got free with Durvalino Quadros in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfredo Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugênio Linhares having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Mané Ferraz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eugênio Linhares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Durvalino Quadros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dito Pirani in the 30th minute. With a little luck, Maxixe SC's Durvalino Quadros got control of the ball when Dito Pirani tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Andrézinho Hermes fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A collision led to Maxixe SC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Natã da Rocha hit a great ball. Eugênio Linhares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Tavares in the 42nd minute of the match. Mané Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Eugênio Linhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eugênio Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Sandro Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Durvalino Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrézinho Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Durvalino Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrézinho Hermes in the 58th minute of the match. Alfredo Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugênio Linhares having to interfere. Maxixe SC's Mané Ferraz got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Maxixe SC's Sandro Linhares ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eugênio Linhares. Eugênio Linhares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Maxixe SC's Alfredo Tavares slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eugênio Linhares. That made the score 0-4 after 76 minutes of play. If Dito Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mané Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Eugênio Linhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Sandro Linhares notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of GAM's Eugênio Linhares. Eugênio Linhares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Andrézinho Hermes might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Durvalino Quadros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrézinho Hermes ran back to his position shaking his head. When the final whistle sounded Maxixe SC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than GAM.
