Taititu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eriberto Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristóvão Secco charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristóvão Secco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 7 minutes into the game, one of Murihe SC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When Concetto Mazzocchetti came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Taititu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Concetto Mazzocchetti couldn't finish the play. Alessandro Andrade's late challenge caught a Murihe SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alessandro Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Murihe SC booed when Taititu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th match minute, Murihe SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duarte Quadros to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Osvaldo Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Concetto Mazzocchetti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With 48 minutes on the clock, Alexandre Damião commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Murihe SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 48th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 50 minutes, Taititu's Concetto Mazzocchetti got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Décio Gonçalves.

If Concetto Mazzocchetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Toscano in the 62nd minute of play forced Murihe SC's goalkeeper Décio Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Osvaldo Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Décio Gonçalves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jorge Lima fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Murihe SC's protests and gave Jorge Lima a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th minute, Jorge Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Murihe SC's zone, Valdir Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Décio Gonçalves came out of the goal and Valdir Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Taititu's Aluísio de Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Taititu from getting a goal against them. Valdir Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Décio Gonçalves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Concetto Mazzocchetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Taititu's Aluísio de Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Taititu from getting a goal against them. Aluísio de Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Fernando Lira in the 88th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Valdir Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taititu's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdir Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Décio Gonçalves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Concetto Mazzocchetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Décio Gonçalves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Valdir Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fernando Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Taititu fully deserved thier win.
