Concetto Mazzocchetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Vicente Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicente Brodel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdir Paiva in the 8th minute of the match. Tataguacu's Vicente Brodel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Paiva in the 12th minute of play. Concetto Mazzocchetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. When Doriva Velloso fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 22nd match minute, Tataguacu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doriva Velloso to maneuver through the defense. If Valdir Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vicente Brodel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Concetto Mazzocchetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 30 minutes, Concetto Mazzocchetti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taititu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Concetto Mazzocchetti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valdir Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Paiva in the 54th minute of play forced Tataguacu's goalkeeper Vicente Brodel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 55 minutes Tataguacu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Concetto Mazzocchetti who took care of the corner kick. 57 minutes into the game, Betinho Azevedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tataguacu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taititu the free kick. After 57 played minutes Tataguacu got a freekick which was hit by Betinho Azevedo. Luís Fernando Quintal kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Taititu's Eriberto Toscano got a free kick in the 60th minute. Taititu's Erik de Barros quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Adhemar Lopes, made in the 65th minute of the game. Concetto Mazzocchetti succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 71st playminute. Luís Fernando Quintal helped the player get up and apologised.
