The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Osvaldinho Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nicolas Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hílton de Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicolas Rossi struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Hílton de Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jacetuba EC. 13 minutes into the match, Jacetuba EC's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldinho Valadares came free, but Hortêncio Matorin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldinho Valadares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hortêncio Matorin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. João Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute Osvaldinho Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hortêncio Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldinho Valadares in the 31st minute of play forced Jacetuba EC's goalkeeper Hortêncio Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacetuba EC's Hortêncio Matorin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Jacetuba EC from getting a goal against them. In the 40th minute, Osvaldinho Valadares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When João Fernandes came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Mirituba EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Fernandes couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute, Luciano Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mirituba EC's Hílton de Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Fernandes in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Humberto Fernandes to strike the kick off in the second half. Hílton de Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Humberto Fernandes in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, Mirituba EC's Luciano Santos got a free kick in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldinho Valadares in the 60th minute of play forced Jacetuba EC's goalkeeper Hortêncio Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Fernandes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Osvaldinho Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hortêncio Matorin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldinho Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. João Fernandes might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hortêncio Matorin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Fernandes ran back to his position shaking his head. Hortêncio Matorin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldinho Valadares in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the game, João Fernandes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Hortêncio Matorin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mirituba EC's Osvaldinho Valadares got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osvaldinho Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hortêncio Matorin having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, one of Jacetuba EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Tales Perez walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Osvaldinho Valadares struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Hortêncio Matorin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mirituba EC. Mirituba EC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
