After a rather tough play, Rota 262 CF's Carlinhos Dracena got a free kick in the 12th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Mourao AD's Ronaldo Penha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulo Dantas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Célio Zanette in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Dantas saved Rota 262 CF from getting behind. João Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Nilton Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Rota 262 CF booed when Mourao AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Valladares took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nilton Mineiro. Nilton Mineiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 46th minute, Carlos Fernando Rossi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Célio Zanette made the kick off in the second half. João Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute.
