The audience was convinced that Israel Bermund's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rômulo Galvão was relentless in the 2nd minute of the game. Rômulo Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Israel Bermund in the 4th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nilmar Duarte in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rômulo Galvão saved Wyvern E.C.F. from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nilmar Duarte in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rômulo Galvão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilmar Duarte in the 10th minute of play forced Wyvern E.C.F.'s goalkeeper Rômulo Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natanael Sanches during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 10 played minutes Wyvern E.C.F. got a freekick which was hit by Natanael Sanches. The supporters of Lagartense Sport Clube booed when Wyvern E.C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natanael Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Wyvern E.C.F.'s zone, Nilmar Duarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rômulo Galvão came out of the goal and Nilmar Duarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Lagartense Sport Clube's Flávio Araújo got a free kick in the 15th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Nilmar Duarte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rômulo Galvão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. José Vítor Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 26 minutes into the match, Nilmar Duarte had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rômulo Galvão. Wyvern E.C.F.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilmar Duarte was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Edvaldo Fernandes hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Nilmar Duarte struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Rômulo Galvão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lagartense Sport Clube. Nilmar Duarte scored 0-3 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rômulo Galvão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nilmar Duarte in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rômulo Galvão saved Wyvern E.C.F. from getting behind. In the 41st minute Israel Bermund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rômulo Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Anselmo Peres put in a rough tackle. In the 43rd minute, Anselmo Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute José Vítor Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Israel Bermund was the one to do the kick off. Anísio Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Galvão having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Flávio Araújo notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Wyvern E.C.F.'s Rômulo Galvão. Rômulo Galvão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Israel Bermund got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 60 minutes, Flávio Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lagartense Sport Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flávio Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lagartense Sport Clube's Zeca Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 64 minutes of play, Wyvern E.C.F.'s Natanael Sanches made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maurinho Nogueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Wyvern E.C.F.'s zone, Israel Bermund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rômulo Galvão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Israel Bermund in the 80th minute. Wyvern E.C.F.'s Rômulo Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeca Carvalho in the 83rd minute of play. Nilmar Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Rômulo Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Flávio Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lagartense Sport Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Flávio Araújo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rômulo Galvão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th minute Flavinho Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Lagartense Sport Clube's Israel Bermund ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rômulo Galvão. Rômulo Galvão yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. Zeca Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Rômulo Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute Israel Bermund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rômulo Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lagartense Sport Clube were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
