Gugu Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Correnteza SS's goalkeeper Zé Roberto de Lara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carlos Augusto Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Correnteza SS's Ulisses Aguiar got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Brasiliense DF's Severino Carneiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Brasiliense DF from getting a goal against them. Gugu Mendonça's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Roberto de Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Severino Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Velloso in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gugu Mendonça stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aníbal Hermes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Brasiliense DF's goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Velloso came free, but Severino Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Severino Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Velloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After a rather tough play, Brasiliense DF's Narciso Leme got a free kick in the 62nd minute.
