In the 5th minute, Mário Coelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Pacheco AD getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Dorian Branco hit a great ball. David Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Romeu Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. André Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Loyola having to interfere. Nestor Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pacheco AD's André Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Mello struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Diego Loyola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pacheco AD. 35 minutes into the match, Pacheco AD's goal looked a bit too open when David Dias came free, but Romeu Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romeu Aguiar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Dias's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Romeu Aguiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Aguiar having to interfere. After the first half Grilos were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell André Mello to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Grilos's zone, André Mello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Loyola came out of the goal and André Mello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tarcisio Leme charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tarcisio Leme the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Grilos's zone, Dorian Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Loyola came out of the goal and Dorian Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Aguiar having to interfere. With splendid footwork David Dias arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-2 by the left pole in the game's 64th minute. David Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nestor Gomes got free with Romeu Aguiar in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dito Nascimento hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. If Nestor Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romeu Aguiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Grilos booed when Pacheco AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvaldo Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. André Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romeu Aguiar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nestor Gomes in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute, Edvaldo Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Nestor Gomes came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Grilos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestor Gomes couldn't finish the play.
